Wavecrest Resort on Molokai

Molokai, the most Hawaiian of all the islands.

Activities

There are many things to do on Molokai. Adventurous visitors can kayak through miles of pristine barrier reefs, hike or ride mules to historic Kalaupapa (Father Damien's former leper colony), hike through the lush/tropical Halawa Valley, mountain bike throughout the countryside toward the soaring sea cliffs, take a mule or wagon ride, ride horseback along gorgeous coastlines and across wild rangelands, go deep sea fishing, snorkel or scuba dive, golf, swim, surf, windsurf and hunt wild game. Other activities (on site or nearby) include tennis, shuffleboard, wildlife viewing, shopping, restaurants, sightseeing, boating, sailing, and shelling.

If you prefer a more relaxed pace, you can beach comb Molokai's golden beaches, where the only footprints may be your own. You can also visit ancient Hawaiian sites and historic churches as well as taking tours of Molokai's coffee and macadamia nut plantations and a taro farm.

Late on Friday afternoons, you won't want to miss the Kapuna's ukulele band at the Molokai Hotel followed by the local musicians' performances. This is the perfect time and place to "talk story" with locals and visitors.

Then, on Saturday mornings, go to the market in Kaunakakai, where you will find food, flowers, artisan crafts, art, and abundant opportunities to "talk story" with locals.

If you long for the hustle and bustle of tourist life, go down to the wharf in Kaunakakai and take the ferry ride to Maui. The exhilarating ferry ride experience and the visit to Maui will show you the vast contrast between the pace of life on Maui and Molokai.
